Dubuque County Business Competition

Calling all forward-thinkers, investors, and business enthusiasts to join us for an exciting event that will help shape the future of startups and existing businesses in Dubuque County! Attendees will have the unique chance to witness the birth of new business ideas and connect with visionary entrepreneurs. You'll get to hear inspiring business pitches and have a chance to vote to help a business get to the live pitch event. Whether you are a seasoned investor, a budding entrepreneur, or simply curious about the entrepreneur ecosystem in Dubuque County, you don't want to miss the Dubuque County Business Competition. February 1, 2024

5 p.m. - Funding Fair

The business finalist will each have a booth to display their business information and concepts. You will hear pitches and will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite concept. A panel of judges will also listen to and score pitches. The businesses that garner the top five judges' scores will be selected to pitch at the live pitch event. The business that generates the most amount of crowd votes also earns a spot in the live pitch event.

6:30 p.m. - Live Pitch Event 

The 6 finalists will take the stage to give their 5-minute pitch to the crowd. Pitches will be scored by a panel of expert judges and the top three businesses will win seed funding.
