About the Event

Andrew Corbett is the Paul T. Babson Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, former Chair of the Entrepreneurship Division, and currently the Faculty Director for the Butler Institute for Free Enterprise through Entrepreneurship at Babson College. Mr. Corbett will be leading a two-day event at The Innovation Lab in Dubuque, Iowa. All local/regional business owners or those who are interested in starting a business are invited to attend one or both of these complimentary sessions.
One-on-One Coaching Sessions
May 17th from 1-5 p.m. at The Innovation Lab
Andrew will be scheduling 30-minute one-on-one sessions to provide coaching and feedback to entrepreneurs to help move your business forward.
Learning The Babson Way
May 18th – 8:30-11:30 a.m. at The Innovation Lab
Andrew will lead a conversation and interactive workshop as he walks through Babson College’s award-winning methodology for guiding entrepreneurs to success. This session will be an interactive experience for you to reflect on your business and establish takeaways to apply right away.
Entrepreneurial Thought & Action®: A Methodology of Entrepreneurship
In this session, we will introduce Babson’s strategic and unifying, action‐based framework for entrepreneurship of all kinds – Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®. You will experience the concept of entrepreneurship as a way of thinking and acting that goes beyond the traditional perspective of starting a new venture. ET&A® is an action‐oriented method for navigating environments that are increasingly uncertain and unknowable and is a useful mindset to enact across different types of scenarios.
The Importance of Business Models
Understanding how the building blocks of an opportunity come together to create a repeatable and scalable model is crucial to building an entrepreneurial initiative. In this session, we will experiment with business model tools and exercises to help you shape the best options for a fledging opportunity.
